Bounce Management

Proper processing of bounced emails is key to maintaining list hygiene and improving deliverability. Bounce management of emails in juvlon is automated, advanced and complies with best practices.

Categorization of bounces as hard and soft

juvlon classifies bounces as hard and soft. Hard bounces are classified as those emails that are absolutely certain to bounce again if resent. For example, a bounce reason of “user not found on the domain” is classified as a hard bounce. Soft bounces are emails that have bounced due a temporary problem or an unknown issue at the recipient side. For instance, an email with a bounce reason of “mailbox full” is considered as a soft bounce.

Bounce processing based on categorization

Soft bounced emails are resent 3 times on 3 consecutive days after the bounce occurs. The email address is unsubscribed only after receiving 4 soft bounces consecutively. After the subscription is cancelled, no emails will be sent to the bounced subscriber in future.

Hard bounces are immediately unsubscribed

Hard bounced email addresses are immediately unsubscribed from all lists/campaigns. No emails will be sent to this subscriber in future.

Full documentation displayed for each bounce

Each bounced mail is recorded with a detailed bounce reason. This is accessible through the bounce reports for a sent mailer.

Export bounced data

You can export bounces for each mailer. Bounces are exported with details, as a CSV file (which can be viewed in MS Excel). This is useful to determine which bounces may be due to typos in email addresses and hence can be corrected.
