If you have dabbled in website statistics and analytics long enough, chances are that you have heard of Avinash Kaushik. He is the guru of Website Analytics and has been passionately blogging for a long time about how to makes sense of the website traffic data. I read his blog regularly. So, when I got to know that his latest post was on Email Marketing and not just on website analytics, I was like, yay!
(However, reading his book “Web Analytics 2.0” with enthusiasm openly in staff canteen, and trains has not improved my social standing in certain circles; But hey, he DMed me to write a review on it on Amazon — oooh Twitter thou allowest me to hob nob with the geek celebs!)
Here is what he says:
“With all the sexiness oozing out of social media it might seem insane to write about email. It’s been relegated to the “OMG that cesspool of spam that no one cares about because everyone is using Google Wave and Facebook!
Not true. Email remains an immensely credible and profitable channel, with an immense reach to boot. To not have it as an active part of your marketing portfolio is sub-optimal. … Embrace permission marketing and email will be a surprising and loyal BFF.I dare say even more than Search (and without a shred of doubt, more than Social Media).
So… Email = totally worth dating, engaging, marrying and having babies with.“
Music to my ears, really. Yes, yes,do go on read it all here.
Where is Email Industry Going? Northwards in Asia!
I can feel the email marketing Industry is growing by leaps and bounds in India. We see that at Juvlon with the inquiries coming in every day. Here is what one report has to say about the Email Market:
“The Asia-Pacific region with its disparate state of development and tremendous growth potential across different countries is projected to sail ahead at the overall highest compounded annual rate of more than 12% through 2017.”
